Adult Education Program
Overview The adult education program at the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped serves individuals with disabilities. It has been designed to meet the needs of the blind and visually impaired, the physically handicapped and those who have learning disabilities. All materials are provided in alternative formats such as Braille, large print and audiocassette. Other special accommodations are provided as needed. The program serves approximately 70 adults per year. Since it's inception in 1986 through a grant by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Education, roughly 400 students have earned their General Educational Development (“GED”) diplomas. Many others have achieved a wide range of personal and educational goals. There is always room for more. If you have questions about this program, call Jill Gross at 215-683-3213 or contact her via e-mail at jgross@tacticus.com. |
